James Bradberry reveals what Dave Gettleman is like
New York cornerback James Bradberry has long been tied to Giants GM Dave Gettleman. The embattled shot-caller gave Bradberry his opportunity in the league, drafting the Samford product in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Bradberry’s shock move to East Rutherford in 2020 was in part thanks to his relationship with Gettleman. Giants fans certainly don’t have the same affinity for the 70-year-old, perhaps that’s because they don’t know Gettleman like Bradberry does.
The 28-year-old shared what Gettleman is like away from the podium and the baying New York media.

Michael Dickson shares his unusual morning routine
Seattle stud specialist Michael Dickson has had his share of life experience. After pursuing a career in Australian rules in his homeland, Dickson turned his attention to America’s game. With the help of punting factory Prokick Australia, the lovable Aussie found a home in Texas, excelling there before Seattle drafted Dickson in the 5th round in the 2018 Draft.
During his professional and personal life, Dickson has experienced ups and downs like any other human, though these two profound pieces of advice have held him in good stead.
“I don’t know who I got it from but it’s just something that’s always stuck with me,” Dickson said. “I forget the exact quote but the message was just like, ‘Aim way higher than what you think is achievable — just aim really high for your goals’ because if you fall short of them you’re still going to do really well. Don’t really limit yourself. That’s the thing that’s probably stuck with me the most.
”Something I always try and go back to is ‘Amor Fati’, which means to love your fate. It’s kind of like a stoic saying but [it means] love everything, even the bad things. Just embrace everything because that’s kind of just life. So enjoy the bad things because it’s all part of it. Just love your fate.”

NFL players are paid more infrequently because some around the league can manage their finances wisely. Yes, you read that right.

How Von Miller found his identity during a tumultuous 2020
How does a world-class athlete work on themselves outside of the weight room? Wonder no more, Von’s got you.
2020 was meant to be the year of Von Miller. Denver’s all-time sack leader canceled a trip to Australia to ensure just that -- missing out on daily Outback Steakhouse and kangaroo riding as a result.
Von instead decided to base himself in San Francisco completing a grueling offseason. All seemed in place for 58 to return to his best, terrifying the NFL’s offensive lines. However, tragedy struck with a season-ending ankle injury a week before their opening game vs. Tennessee.
There were plenty of other bumps along the road too, so how does such a public figure deal with the expectation of the world on top of their own internal demands?
How does a world-class athlete work on themselves outside of the weight room? Wonder no more, Von’s got you.
“For me, all the time we had with the quarantine, I just invested all of that time back into myself. I just did a lot of mental work, on positive and negative energy,” Von said when asked about his learnings from 2020 [link].
“I did just a lot of self-identity finding, I tried to find out what’s really essential and then eliminate the rest. I just really wanted to just minimize my priorities and focus on them with full speed ahead and really just focusing on what really matters to me and pouring all of my time into that.
“As humans you are presented with things daily that mess with your emotions, or your anger, or your fear. And for me, I just wanted to identify what really matters and then focus on that, and the emotions that come with that, instead of running from them, I just identify them. If I’m angry, ‘Why am I angry? If I’m afraid, why am I afraid?’ And I just kind of unpack that.
“If I’m anxious about something, you know instead of just saying, ‘Man I’m not anxious, you know and just try and push through that, you know I just identify why am I anxious? Where is this coming from?’ And then once you really unpack that and get down to the base value of it, it’s just all made up in your head, you know? It’s things that the human mind puts there to create all these emotions.”
Offseason isn’t just about the body work, VM58 invested lengthy time into his mental approach, which paid off handsomely after his devastating ankle injury.
“I did a lot of work identifying what’s what and I think it worked great for me because whenever I dislocated my ankle, that’s all I really had. You know, those first two days, I’m not going to say like I was positive right away, those first two days man, I had to go through the process, the grieving process and then shortly after that, it was the acceptance of, This is what it is, this is what has been presented to me, how do I make the best out of it? ‘
“The best was, for me, identifying and focusing on being able to come back fast, come back this season (2020). That’s where I put all my energy and all my mind, all of my focus on that, and that’s what keeps me motivated and that’s what keeps me going everyday.”
If you’re not ready to run through a brick wall, then I can’t help you.

Jason Pierre-Paul’s incredible definition of resilience
Two-time Super Bowl champion Jason Pierre-Paul has been through his fair share of battles. The former New York Giant'‘s most infamous moment came while on the roster in East Rutherford. On July 4th 2015, Pierre-Paul suffered a significant hand injury after a firework detonated in his hand, causing him to lose most of his right index finger.
JPP also spent two years in junior college before dominating at USF before being drafted with the 15th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Haitian Sensation played eight years in New York before arriving in Tampa.
The tribulations didn’t start and end in New York. Pierre-Paul suffered a neck fracture in May 2019 — before playing a single game for the Bucs. Like anyone, JPP has had plenty of setbacks, perhaps more than most, so it was fitting he had such a wonderful explanation for how he moves through difficult times.
